A wet spring leading into a warm, dry vintage delivered a soft and round Durif in 2015. This vintage is fruit-forward, supported by powerful structure and is a wine that's in an ideal drinking window now, but could equally be tucked away in the cellar for a few more years.

"I’m loving the structure of the 2015 Scion Durifs. This varietal is well known for its tannin but the combination of fresh-faced fruit and fine-grained tannin is both beautifully handled here and modern in its presentation. There’s nothing rustic about this wine, despite its power. This wine boasts dense, dark berried fruit, a lick of sweet oak, a kind of smoky, rust, iodine-like character and dark earth notes too. Indeed modern and old-fashioned at once, in the best sense of both words. Long future ahead for this wine too." (Campbell Mattinson)
